APPLICATION

Applications for the Rural Training Track are accepted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Only applications sent through ERAS will be considered. For more information on applying via ERAS, contact your medical school dean of student affairs, or visit ERAS online at www.aamc.org/eras to review applicant procedures. When applying, please specify the University of Kentucky Rural Training Track at Morehead.

An ERAS application to our program should include:

  1. ERAS common application form with personal statement
  2. Dean's letter and medical school transcript
  3. Three letters of recommendation
  4. USMLE transcript or equivalent
  5. A personal interview

In addition, we require the following:

  • One year US clinical experience
  • Graduation from medical school within the last five years
  • Passing scores on Step 1 & 2 of the USMLE exams (must pass by third attempt)
  • Current ECFMG status
  • Our hospital only sponsors J1 visas

    • Interviews are scheduled by invitation between October 1 and January 15. Please call 606 783-6455 for more information. We gladly welcome spouses or significant others to accompany applicants during the visit and can arrange tours of the Morehead community
